Celebrating the Launch of the 2018 Lehigh Valley Toys for Tots Campaign!

Cohen, Feeley, Altemose & Rambo is proud to once again serve as a toy drop-off site for the 2018 Toys for Tots program.

The firm has participated in this great charity for a number of years, which works to collect, donate, and distribute Christmas gifts to local children in need.

Toys for Tots is the official charitable program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. The program was founded back in 1947 by Marine Corps Major Bill Hendricks. Major Hendricks was inspired to start the charity after his wife wanted to donate a Raggedy Ann doll to a needy child, but couldn’t find an organization to do so. In true Marine Corps fashion, Major Hendricks rounded up a few fellow Marines to tackle the mission. The program was a huge success immediately, collecting some 5,000 toys from a handful of local collection bins.

After their huge success, Toys for Tots was launched nationally. Walt Disney Studios designed the red toy train logo, while stars like Nat King Cole recorded an official theme song for the program in 1956. Toys for Tots continued helping deliver toys to children in need over the decades and the Secretary of Defense approved Toys for Tots as the official mission of the Marine Corps Reserves in 1995.

The program’s success continues to this day, having collected and distributed more than 512 million toys as of 2016 and it remains one of the top ranked charities in the country year after year.

You can help make a local child’s wish come true by donating a new unwrapped toy at our offices in Bethlehem and Whitehall from now until December. All toys will go to needy children in the Lehigh Valley, which means you’ll be making an impact close to home.
